Guest Artist

Farringdon Print shop is pleased to welcome its first guest artist; British photographer Chris Floyd.

Chris has had a wildly successful and long career starting in London in 1990. We’ve asked him to join us because, much like Jake and James, he used to spend vast acres of his time in and around the Farringdon area of London, showing his portfolio, shooting portraits, waiting around for film to be processed, and hanging out with the other young guns trying to establish a foothold in the industry.

Chris is based in the UK but also lived in New York from 2000 to 2007.  His work has been published all over the world. 14 of his photographs are in the collection of The National Portrait Gallery in London. His work from the 90s is strongly associated with Britpop and his iconic images of The Verve were used for the promotion and sleeves of their seminal LP Urban Hymns. He has photographed royalty, prime ministers…and Sir Paul McCartney, as well has literally anybody else you can think of.

In 2022 he published a monograph titled Not Just Pictures’ which was published by Reel Art Press. 60 of the images were accompanied by Chris’s text that told the stories behind the photos in his distinctively funny, self-deprecating and detailed style.

His images are available here in open and limited editions, printed in London and signed by Chris.

Each print in the limited edition is accompanied by an account of the shoot typed by Chris on a 1960s Olivetti…really. That’s signed too.
